Magnesium is best absorbed through the skin, so adding a daily routine of magnesium spray or body butter is one of the best gifts you can give to your body. Magnesium deficiency can cause: anxiety, trouble sleeping, irritability, low blood pressure, memory loss, and muscle spasm/weakness among many other things.

Organic Cocoa Butter

Organic Cocoa Butter gives you glowing, softer, smoother skin. Cocoa butter is amazing for dry skin and can actually penetrate further than the top layer of the skin, meaning it moisturizes deep-down and really nourishes the skin. It contains a much higher antioxidant concentration then even blueberries and other superfoods, which means powerful anti-ageing.

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass Essential Oil acts as an astringent, which constricts the skin. This helps to minimize pores, limit the secretions of oil and provide a temporary skin-firming treatment. It is anti-microbial and anti-bacterial, which helps reduce breakouts and other similar skin issues.

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium Essential Oil tightens and tones the skin, giving it a more youthful look while reducing fine lines, it also speeds up the healing process of small wounds and other skin issues. Geranium oil helps scars and other spots on the skin to fade and vanish. It facilitates blood circulation just below the surface of skin and also helps promote a uniform distribution of melanin. It promotes cell health, encourages the recycling of dead cells, and the regeneration of new cells.

Geranium Oil has a very pleasant and uplifting aroma, comparable to a combination of floral fragrances and mint. Surely you can imagine what an effective deodorant it would make. Its effects also last for a long time and it is not harsh on the skin. Furthermore, owing to its property as a mild antibacterial substance, it aids in eliminating body odour.

Grapeseed Oil is a light, easily absorbed oil that contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, both of which are great for fighting & healing acne & aging. The oil also contains linoleic acid, which is great for promoting skin health. It helps to tighten skin & moisturize – even the most sensitive of skin.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is traditionally used to help soothe angry skin – burns, wounds, and sunburn. It also helps calm dry, flaky skin, eczema, psoriasis, and it’s good for acne. It’s very moisturizing, fights ageing, and reduces the look of stretch marks. For more detailed information, read this: The Benefits of Using Aloe Vera for Skin Care and More

What Does “Saponified” Mean?

Saponification is the chemical reaction used in the soap making process. When the oils and fats are combined with lye (a strong alkali) they are called saponified. At the end of the process the lye is all gone, and you are left with just soap. To learn more about this, have a look at my blog post on the subject.

About “Filler” Oils

Cheaper oils are often used as a “filler” but I don’t use them because they don’t add much nutrient value to the soap.

I don’t use palm oil in any of my products, since its production is harmful to the environment, destroying critical habitat for many endangered species, as well as being linked with the eviction of forest-dwelling peoples. Find out more here.

I only use high quality oils and butters that are filled with beneficial nutrients for the skin. Learn more about this on my blog.
