Like olive oil and coconut oil, grape seed oil is an effective natural hair moisturizer and conditioner. However, grape seed oil surpasses its counterparts in its ability to address problems such as weakened hair, hair loss, and dandruff. Grape seed oil is ideal for moisturizing and conditioning dry hair because it is lighter than olive oil or coconut oil and won’t leave your hair feeling greasy. Grape seed oil helps to lock in moisture and prevent frizz, split ends, and brittle hair.

Organic sunflower oil maintains your hair’s luster and texture and can be used as a natural conditioner. A wide array of nutrients and antioxidants together with essential fatty acids make it extremely beneficial for your hair. Being extremely light, sunflower oil helps in conditioning greasy hair. It nourishes the hair and prevents breakage. It is an important source of gamma alpha linolenic acid (GLA) which helps in preventing thinning of hair.

Rice bran oil rejuvenates dull looking hair, making your locks shinier and healthier. It protects your hair from sun damage, balances oiliness of your skin, strengthens and nourishes your hair, and can help prevent split ends. Regular use of this oil can make your hair thicker and easily manageable, and helps strengthen and nourish the roots.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil is one of the best oils to deal with dry, damaged hair and other problems, like dandruff, hair loss, etc. Jojoba oil acts as a good organic balancer. It is very useful for all types of hair, but is particularly good for dry, damaged hair, split ends and hair that is prone to tangling and damage.

Frankincense is excellent at promoting a healthy scalp and moisturizing existing hair follicles to prevent and treat hair loss.

What Does "Saponified" Mean?

What Does “Saponified” Mean?

Saponification is the chemical reaction used in the soap making process. When the oils and fats are combined with lye (a strong alkali) they are called saponified. At the end of the process the lye is all gone, and you are left with just soap. To learn more about this, have a look at my blog post on the subject.

About “Filler” Oils

About “Filler” Oils

Cheaper oils are often used as a “filler” but I don’t use them because they don’t add much nutrient value to the soap.

I don’t use palm oil in any of my products, since its production is harmful to the environment, destroying critical habitat for many endangered species, as well as being linked with the eviction of forest-dwelling peoples. Find out more here.

I only use high quality oils and butters that are filled with beneficial nutrients for the skin. Learn more about this on my blog.
