Aloe vera

Aloe vera is traditionally used to help soothe angry skin – burns, wounds, and sunburn. It also helps calm dry, flaky skin, eczema, psoriasis, and it’s good for acne. It’s very moisturizing, fights ageing, and reduces the look of stretch marks. For more detailed information, read this: The Benefits of Using Aloe Vera for Skin Care and More

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is an excellent tonic to help relieve stress, anxiety, and nervous conditions. It is often recommended as a sleep-aid, as an alternative to insomnia treatment. It helps with headaches & depression, relieve pain, disinfects the skin, encourages blood circulation, & aids with respiratory issues.

Lemon essential oil

Lemon essential oil is a good remedy for increasing the luster of dull skin. It is astringent and detoxifying in nature, and rejuvenates sagging or tired-looking skin. Its antiseptic properties help in treating pimples and various skin disorders. Lemon is also recommended for reducing excessive oil on the skin. Lemon oil is calming in nature and therefore helps in removing mental fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness, anxiety, nervousness and nervous tension. It has the ability to refresh the mind by creating a positive mindset and removing negative emotions. It is also believed that inhaling lemon oil helps in increasing concentration and alertness.

What Does "Saponified" Mean?

What Does “Saponified” Mean?

Saponification is the chemical reaction used in the soap making process. When the oils and fats are combined with lye (a strong alkali) they are called saponified. At the end of the process the lye is all gone, and you are left with just soap. To learn more about this, have a look at my blog post on the subject.

About “Filler” Oils

About “Filler” Oils

Cheaper oils are often used as a “filler” but I don’t use them because they don’t add much nutrient value to the soap.

I don’t use palm oil in any of my products, since its production is harmful to the environment, destroying critical habitat for many endangered species, as well as being linked with the eviction of forest-dwelling peoples. Find out more here.

I only use high quality oils and butters that are filled with beneficial nutrients for the skin. Learn more about this on my blog.
